IMO they should, speaking english really helps with marketability.
most fighters do anyway, for example :Anderson tries his best(doesnt talk with a translator next to him) even though hes bad at it;he is still trying to connect with his non-portugese speaking fans.
Machida's english is also getting better and better.

Dont underestimate how tough it is for Brazilians to learn English.
All the American tv shows are spoken in Portuguese.
The English classes have a low standard etc.
And Portuguese is a latin language.

How about since the UFC wants to be a global entity, every fighter on the roster must be multilingual.

Card in Brazil? Every fighter must speak Portuguese. Card in China? Same deal (depending on the region you might be called on to speak Mandarin or Cantonese)

Yes and then your spending like 2 hours per day learning english taking away from your training time, and you lose your first 2 fights and your cut....
