I think Cain is #1 p4p.

Him fighting JDS three times was a great thing, and certainly can't be considered a waste given that JDS would be an undefeated champ p4p candidate himself if not for Cain. The Bigfoot rematch, however, was very unfortunate given how lopsided the first fight was.

I agree Cain is at or near the end of his prime, because his style is particularly grueling. The only old wrestler whose wrestling and cardio didn't severely decline with age was Randy, and he seems to be some kind of freak/anomaly.

Looking back at his record in future times, will that be a knock against him? Only facing the same 2 guys over and over for nearly half a decade? Has that ever happened in any other combat sport, where the champ just keeps fighting the same 2 guys for such a long period of time?

I really think the ufc messed up and should have thrown in some other people to mix things up. Granted JDS and Bigfoot are tough guys but it's ridiculous to rematch the same people over and over again for so long. I feel like Cain's prime was wasted a bit and his resume would look stronger if he had some variety in there.
You make some points but if were being really honest... beating the life out of JDS
for 10 rounds is more impressive than beating a few other HW fighters. Dont forget
JDS pretty much destroys the entire HW division.
That being said would be nice when he has new opponents.

Okay? Even if that is true, what does that have to do with anything?

Only because he'll continue to get injured for the rest of his career "buddy". Just realized Cain made his MMA debut 3 years before DC, who has one more fight than he does.

Look at his user name, connect the dots, then ignore him.

This. It's been going on in boxing for over a decade now. HW boxing barely exists nowadays. The team sports snatch up all the talented big guys.
