Would've been the same amount of waiting time either way so I really don't understand it.
Thats assuming they don't do a rematch, and the champ isn't injured.

I hate guys getting instant title shots in a new weightclass, but Aldo vs Pettis is honestly one of the greatest match ups in MMA history. I love it. I can't see either man losing.

Only excited. As long as there are no weight cut problems, it should be a show.

I think the weight cut is going to be huge disadvantage for Pettis.

Even though he cuts little weight to make 155, he admits that he already eats clean. So basically, he will lose quite a bit of muscle mass to make this cut.

I really wanted to see Pettis whoop Henderson. Oh well.

He is probably my favorite fighter, and I actually think that if he was to beat aldo, especially convincingly with a tko/ko/submission, he would have so much confidence going into the title fight with henderson/melendez that i dont think either of them would be able to stop him. His standup is nasty and his standup defense is even nastier. The guy rarely ever takes damage.
ummm..if Pettis were to win, why would he abandon the belt and move back to 155?
also...it would be funny to see them jumping off the fence and trying some slick moves! :-)

I imagine he is doing this because he is a beast and feels he can become the title holder in 2 divisions. He wants to cut down to 145 come august, fight aldo, beat aldo, get back up to 155, fight current champion, beat current champion. Simple as that, he wants to be the best there is. Cant blame him for that. Thats why i love this guy. he literally wants to go out in the ring, put on a fight for the fans, and knock bitches out. He really is a fighter for the fans.

I hope he isn't being arrogant but confident.Else it will be his downfall just like Reem/rashad.

Not sure what your trying to say, but my guess is that he wants to have a guaranteed title shot, and not a promise. Who knows what can transpire between bendo and melendez, Pettis might be left out again. Plus I imagine he prefers to fight a striker and not have to worry about a takedown as much as with bendo/Gil.
