Probably just due to the stance in mma, but these guys really don't know how to sprawl. You have a few good one but overall guys just stand straight up when a guy is driving the double leg and they don't do much so they could put on their backs or against the fence. Then the cage humping ensues.

I thought about that too. good point...it's just one of those things i see, and instantly start criticizing.

Lack of understanding on how to effectively use leg/body kicks.

Lack of understanding on how to implement effective/damaging ground and pound.

Just holding on in full guard rather than trying to mount offense from the back, reverse, or stand up. This strategy has not been successful since Mirko last pulled it off in Pride in about 2004.

Not attacking the other guy's shoulder when he has underhooks on you. Jones against Glover is the only time I've ever seen it.

Lack of use of body shots in the striking game. Some guys do it well, but a lot of guys just head hunt.

Guys who NEVER use elbows on their feet.

Fighters who never throw leg kicks.

Lack of use of teep kicks to knee.

Lack of attacking knee with strikes in general.

GnP seems a little bit extinct these days.
Maybe it's because of the improved TDD and striking by fighters but fighters like Tito Ortiz seem to be gone. Fighters who take their opponent down to do damage with Ground and Pound and get tko victories.

I especially agree about the lack of knees in general, they're deadly.

I'd like to see more of the Thai clinch.

Weidman was showing old school, big time, end the fight type ground and pound in his first Anderson fight. It is pretty much entirely due to making Anderson's eyes roll back in his head and Anderson realizing that this was not Chael above him, that Anderson had to go to such a clowning extent to keep the fight standing.

I think Tito would have given Weidman an A.
