That said, Weidman's striking and power finished the fight and his wrestling threat changed Silva's style. It was a combination of both.
Then again, why ask the question and then say people are wrong?
I'm not saying anybody is wrong, it's my opinion. My post (as the thread title indicates) is in regards to the outcome of the fight, which was a knockout victory for Weidman.
Did Silva clown too much? Yes. But he attempted to avoid the fight ending combination like he would have done in any other instance (he's always rolled with punches). My opinion is that even if Silva was "serious" during the fight Weidman still would have caught him with that left hook. He set it up perfectly with the jab.
But I suppose, if Silva had been "serious" he would have actually punched Weidman in the face a few times and Weidman might not have been as eager to rush in the way he did...
