I've literally never heard that definition of gatekeeper til Sherdog in the past year. I always heard the definition of gatekeeper as defined in the OP. Roy Nelson is the gatekeeper, not JDS.

The "gate" the guy is keeping isn't to a title shot. It is to being ranked/contendership. When you get shut out of the gate you don't go down to another ranked top 10 fight (losing to JDS), you missed your chance at being considered a contender and are back to fighting on prelims again (the up and comer that Nelson smashes in one round).

What do you run TS? The usual build I see is more a defensive pivot than a sweeper.

Gleison Tibau (Janigleison Herculano Alves) @ Black Belt
Ability: No Guard
Serious Nature
EVs: 248 HP/ 4 ATT/ 252 Def/ 4 Spe/ 0 TRT
-Low Kick

Great staying power, especially in such a competitive tier. But IDK, he just doesn't seem to have the offensive presence necessary to sweep, imo. Maybe a Bulk Up set would work better?

Mark Hunt is the strongest opponent I've ever faced. I've never felt anyone that strong in my life.

Just to clarify, a gatekeeper is someone that you have to beat to be ranked in the Top 10. A sweeper is someone you have to beat to remain in the UFC. Tibau used to be a gatekeeper, but these days he's a sweeper.

Of course, 155 is so stacked the skill disparity between a gatekeeper and someone ranked in the Top 5 isn't necessarily that huge.
