he says its hard to tell because Mousasi already have a history in MMA, but MMA is different than kickboxing, the gloves are smaller, the timing and the distance are different. So if a fighter goes to a MMA fight intending to fight a muay thai fight he will be in trouble. Its a matter of who is going to be the more technical fighter

He also believes that a victory over Mousasi will put him a lot closer to the title depending on his performance and because Mousasi is a big name in the sport.
In the end he says he doesn't even want to think about losing this fight because that would put him far far way from the belt.
Thank you very much!

He is very humble in this interview. Machida will defeat Mousassi and he will win the Middleweight belt.

Lyoto will forever leave his mark on the world of MMA. He will go down as a legend of the sport.
He already did leave his mark. His focus on timing and distance just changed the way people fight. You feel the influence of his approach in many new fighters we see in the octogan today, even though most of them don't have karate as their main style. He will be one of the GOATs for sure.

The winner of this fight should get the next title shot after Belfort.
