The price needs to come down. $60 is way too fucking much for the quality of cards that are being offered (especially nowadays). If they cut that in half, I would be more likely order every single event...

Ufc is dying, accept it or don't. It's dying.
DFW and the fertittas are cashing in on it now for what they can until the pin is pulled. Aka sold or shut down altogether. It is still profitable tho marginally (some ppvs more then others) but someday dont think it will be. Say 2-3 years... Maybe 5. IMHO

^I agree.

The sport seems to be dying a slow death.

Look at the pitch of the posts when MM was delusional enough to think he was doing everyone a favour by taking over and announced it on Twitter. It's not solid strictly by fan appeal and the reception to what I mentioned proves it.
Real fans love watching MM. The only problem is that he's facing the 12th ranked guy in the division.

That fight may end up uglier than Jones/Sonnen.

You're going to have to do better than an inversed No True Scotsman fallacy.

I agree with the spirit of your suggestion, but the problem remains that what makes a "strong" co-main or third fight is subjective. Hardcore fans and casuals are obviously going to have pretty different interpretations of what makes a strong bout. Maybe if strong is defined as "having at least one fighter who is in the top 10 of their respective weight division." But then, the rankings themselves are also totally subjective.

By any measure, 177 is a shite card. 178, on the other hand, I'm pretty excited for.

People didn't watch PPVs headed by GSP, Silva, Brock, or Chuck because it was for the belt. They tuned in because GSP, Silva, Brock, and Chuck had personalities and a draw to them.

What would be a bigger PPV draw

DJ in a championship fight or GSP fighting anyone in a street fight ?
