Because it's a small joint manipulation and you'd lose, be fined, and maybe fired.

Except the fingers aren't pointing into the eyes. Close though.

Because for any kicks you throw, he may take you down. And you don't want a lengthy dude like Jones on top of you.

Yes, this. Before each fight the ref asks if they know the rules and they shake their heads yes so why are warnings given out at all?

The hard part is determining if it was purely accidental or negligent but just like in hockey where you get called for highsticking someone in the face whether it was accidental or not because you have to be in control of your stick at all times, then in MMA you should be responsible for your outstretched fingers!

I really hope big John is not doing this fight, and in a weird way I kinda hope its an even worse referee--Mazzagotti because he would have the balls to deduct points!

Wait, give me that Irish ref, he seems tough enough to enforce the rules

Is there some reason guys just sit and take it?
Back when I was younger, much younger in Karate, I practiced and drilled catching punches, applying vary rapid and powerful pressure to the inside wrist and outside elbow at the same time. I didn't punch the elbow, I used a open palm strike. It would work sometimes in street fights. Was not allowed todo such a thing in the studio or tournament. I could injure the elbow joint but I never did break an elbow. This was back in the mid 80's. We didn't know what mma was. I am older than Dan Henderson.

Same guy sitting in three places exactly matching the gaps between Jon's fingers? Fighting Jon Jones must be very discombobulating. I wouldn't question his sense of space.
