On that graph I included Tiers from 2 to 8. Tier 1 is the largest segment, but people are not that interested in Tier 1 fighters.

Right now, Tier 8 has 19 fighters, Tier 7 has 31, Tier 6 has 50, Tier 5 has 78, Tier 4 has 144, Tier 3 has 290, Tier 2 has over 1000, and Tier 1 almost 5000.
IC thanks.

Can you post the same graph with tier 1-8? I'm curious how the curve will look.

OK, I will include Tier 1 in the following graph.
Just a couple of notes here.

We are trying to restrict weekly calculations to about 8,000 to 9,000 fighters.
When somebody drops below 4 in Current Rating, then we donít calculate Current Score for that fighter.
Otherwise, our weekly calculations might include tens of thousands and it would take several hours more to finish all calculations.

We have all fighters that belong to Tier 3 and up.
It might happen that we are missing some fighters ( some newcomers) from Tier 2.
Tier 2 is for fighters with Current Rating 8 to 11.
Right now we have 1148 fighters in Tier 2. That is probably about 98%.

Tier 1 is for fighters with Current Rating 4 to 7.
Right now we have about 5000 fighters in Tier 1. This number is always changing, because some people drop out, and we always include new fighters.
I estimate that we have about 90% fighters from Tier 1.

In theory, we should have Tier 0 fighters as well. Those are all beginners and those with bad, bad records. They would have rating from 0 to 3.
That would include all professional fighters and number is probably close to 40,000.

Back to my previous question.
What happened with UFC LHW division?
It used to be the most popular division with the best fighters.
Now in Top 4 Tiers, that have just 14 fighters.
HW have 17 in the top 4 Tiers.

It will be a little better when Cormier finally start competing as LHW.
Still, too many fighters are moving down to MW, and no new LHW with the high rating.

Awesome man thanks for that total graph. The fact that 170 is so close to 155 in depth makes me think maybe 145 will not eventually catch up.

It might take several years, but I think 170, 155 and 145 will be tied at the top as strongest divisions.

I have a diagram that tracks the strength (quality and quantity) of each division.
It can help you with predicting some future trends.

This shows overall division strength, not restricted to only fighters in UFC.
