Personally, I think scoring tdd isn't the solution. I'd rather focus on takedowns scoring less unless you inflict damage while performing them. Powerslam your opponent? Score. Drag your opponent to the floor? Not so much. The act of getting someone down should set you up to score. It shouldn't inherently score just by happening. It's the same with TDD. Furthermore, hanging out in closed guard should not score you points. If closed guard is an advantageous position for the top fighter then scoring should come naturally through what he can achieve from there.

I agree. A td shouldn't be seen as such an offensive weapon. What you do after is what should count (more).
