A positive about Edgar and Sonnen fighting for title

now seems like there are a lot of number 1 contender type fighters that can fight for the title for at least the next 4 fights... I have the 4 fights that seem most likely to happen in each weight class listed here and also an estimated timeline for when the fight would happen (stacking MSG with Jones+Aldo).

Obviously a lot of the people on each list will likely have to stay active but even if they are upset, the people they would be matched up against would set up an exciting contendership for the most part... for example if Lamas or KZ lose their next fight while waiting in line to the Mendes/Guida winner, Mendes or Guida will then have a lot of hype behind them

The good thing about Edgar and Sonnen fighting for the title is that a bunch of legitimate contenders have to rack up losses fighting each other and wait extra-long for their shots?

A lot of people complain about how some weight classes have none or close to none interesting contenders left (BW+MW come to mind) while these two weight classes are set to have exciting (big hype) type matchups for a solid year and half

A secondary part that you could infer is that if Jones and/or Aldo run the gauntlet of these "big 4" type fights, their P4P ranking and possibly interest in their fights will probably pass GSP/Anderson just because those two lack interesting matchups

Finally, just wanted to point out how much the 205 lbs division has changed. In the few months following the Rashad fight, there were plenty of threads about how Jones had cleared out the weight class and the only interesting matchup left was Hendo with some people saying it wasn't even that great of a matchup. Now, Jones has at least 4 hypeable fights left at 205 before he needs to go up (plus people who thought Hendo wasn't deserving will certainly not have an argument if he beats Machida)
