sorry but I'm not drinking any Kool-Aid. Edgar could of easily been lw champion and was less than a year removed from being champion. He's also still a top 10 p4p fighter.
So yes a lot of people believe it was a super fight. Whether you believe it to be or not is basically irrelevant.

So skill of fighters means nothing? Two guys who have been at the top of their division for years and were, and still are, the champions of the two largest organizations of the last 5 or 6 years battling it out = not a superfight. Instead a fight between an all time great, who is passed his prime, and a guy who never was an all time great, never will be recognized as one of the best fighters in mma history and who was one of the least skilled champions ever = superfight.
It's kind of funny how mma is the only sport where the hardcore fans are often less educated than the casual fans. The casual fans often seem open to lighter weight classes, women's fights and rising stars while half of mma's hardcore fans would rather watch big names who are 5 years passed their prime than a Jose Aldo fan.
Just one of the many reasons hardcore mma fans are laughed at.
