Looks like this summer Henry Cejudo is fighting for a title vs Damacio Page.
Now granted Damacio Page is not one of the best 135lbs or 125lbs fighters in the world, but he does have a lot of experience and has some very decent wins under his belt. He's also fought on the big stage (WEC/UFC) since 2008.
Henry Cejudo has looked like a world destroyer imo and could make some serious waves within the mma world. He already has the wrestling following and is a gold medalist. If the UFC snatched him up he'd be a marketing dream.
However, he has yet to have any big name wins against great high level fighters.
If he beats Damacio could it be sign that he will soon be ready for his shot in the big leagues? I'm not saying that it automatically means he's the next big deal or that he's coming for anyone's title, but it would be a win over a veteran who has been in there with the best. And that in and of it's self is a big deal. This could be his stepping stone to a ufc contract. Which is something I would love to see.
Plus granted Flyweight and Bantamweight are both a bit top heavy the UFC brass would love to get some fresh blood/star power in there I'm sure.
What do you guys think?
