Again, some of the arenas had a CAPACITY of 17,000, you can't put 60,000 people in a building where the CAPACITY is 17,000, do you know what CAPACITY means? That means the most people you can fit in there. So, you still gonna fit 60,000 people in there?
Now, you say "Standing room only" here's Silva vs. Iwasaki, this was the 91,000 show, and there's a good shot of the crowd... SITTING DOWN!
Goodridge/Frye... Crowd sat down
When PRIDE went to America, they were still owned by Dream Stage Entertainment, it wasn't until May 25, 2007 when they sold. They US shows were in February and also October in 2006. So, they weren't "Under the control of the UFC", PRIDE made a last ditch effort to gain a bigger US audience, which failed miserabley, hence them selling.
Also, I'm not the one saying "The UFC did this, that and the other", YOU are the one saying "Every month, at every fight, 60,000-80,000+", but I'm discussing this with someone who seemingly doesn't understand what "Capacity" means. Also, that 91,000 show was also a K-1 show, not just PRIDE. I believed that PRIDE was better than the UFC. However, you're being told to quit making shit up and exaggerating (that means overblowing things to make it better or worse, I thought I'd tell you seeing as you don't understand what CAPACITY means. I no way shape or form was I saying that UFC were doing that, I'm saying that YOU shouldn't make shit up.
Now, onto your last thing, you're asking me to Prove articles from over seven years ago, in newspapers that aren't in my country in a language I don't speak, read or understand, it's impossible to do. Now you're asking for Court Documents, from seven years ago, again, in a country I don't live in, in a language I don't speak, read or understand. However, a news story, and an interview with a guy who covered it, and a news story and an interview with a guy who exposed it in court isn't good enough for you?
Now, I've tried doing it for you, oddly enough, I looked for where else Enson Inoue said that PRIDE covered the medical bills, and your post was number 1 on google. Now I asked you provide evidence on such a thing, not "Well, I talked to him, and he said they did". However, it would not surprise me if they did. Once again, I didn't say "They don't", I said "Provide evidence because I cannot find any".
Cliff notes:
- Capacity means "The most you can fit in", you can't put 60,000 people in a 17,000 capacity.
- Provide EVIDENCE.
I love how you try to change what you say in order to look "right".
You said SEATING CAPACITY. Not capacity, there is a big difference.
Some of the fights had a standing room only section.
Of course if a building could only hold 20,000 people, then that's all it could hold. None the less it was at 100% capacity then and the UFC still never is. They have to GIVE AWAY tickets in order to make the place look filled up. When Pride was in a building that could seat 60,000+ people, the majority of the time they filled it up or damn near up.
Yes, when Pride was in America, it was still "owned" by DSE, but they were already in a transitional period with the UFC, that was the entire point of them coming here. The UFC does NOT allow another big show to come to Vegas, this has been stated several times buy Dana and many other people. Pride came here in order to set a transition up for the fighters and to get Americans familiar with them. That's why the events were really small and not as much of a show as the other Pride events. I should know,.. I WENT TO THEM.
As far as searching for what Enson said to me,.. how are you going to search what he personally said to me? Either way, I don't know how to provide proof of the medical coverage from Pride. My statement about it is a positive statement that does not defame the company, like your statements about the "Yakuza" do. Therefore the burden of proof is on you about your accusations, not me. If I can find any proof about it, I will provide it.
I love how you DEMAND PROOF, yet you provide none for your original claims.
Come on now, where are ALL of those newspapers and magazine stories from Japan you were claiming existed?
Stop making shit up.
I like the UFC too, but you just need to stop making shit up.
Where are the court documents and the sentencing about this illegal activity that Pride and DSE were involved in with the "Yakuza"?
Stop making shit up.

See, now we're getting somewhere, what you've said now is that they filled their shows to capacity, and when they did hold that amount of people, they nearly got there. So, it wasn't 60,000 per month was it? Sold out shows, or at least filled arenas, that I can agree with.
I don't think they necessarily were, I think they were making a last ditch effort to build their US market share because they lost the Fuji TV deal because of the Yakuza thing. But the Yakuza thing wasn't down to Dana White. Dana said that they put the Kibosh on them running PRIDE shows, but not "Pride was run by the Yakuza", because he can't throw around those accusations. It was Miro Mijatovic, who said so in court, which is what the interview says.
I wasn't searching for what Enson said to you personally, I was searching for interviews and whatnot, from Enson, or any fighter who have said that they provided medical insurance.
Again, I wasn't "defaming" PRIDE when I talked about Yakuza involvement, it was big news at the time, but, like I said, stories from 2006, in Japanese are impossible for me to find, because I don't speak Japanese and the papers in my own country don't show stories from 2006. Hence my providing an alternative of a guy who reported it in Japan, and the guy who exposed it in the courts.
See, that's not making "shit up" like "60,000-80,000 at EVERY SHOW" and implying that Dana White was catatyst forthe Yakuza scandal, because it happened after Dana was involved in something to do with PRIDE, I gave you the guy's name who exposed it, he even talks about it. I then gave you the name of a reporter who covered the story.

He didn't expose anything, because nothing was done or proven.
You have a guy making accusations that never resulted in anything.
You are taking his word, yet you turn around in the same statement and slam me for my position on Dana's involvement.
If you don't think that Dana and Zuffa had nothing to do with the accusations about the Yakuza, then you are either gullible or blind.

Okay, let's look at things from your personal perspective. Do you believe, in your heart of hearts, that Yakuza had NOTHING to do with PRIDE? That Dana White lying about PRIDE being in bed with the Yakuza brought them down, allowing them to buy them out?

I personally do not know, one way or the other if they had any involvement with Pride FC at all.
What I do know, is that they did NOT have "fixed fights" during the Fedor era and that the accusations of fixed fights is insulting to the fighters that really went out there and gave it their all, win or lose.
Head stomps are not fake.
Soccer kicks are not fake.
The Randleplex was not fake.
I do think Dana and Zuffa staff went out of their way to spread rumors and to do anything they could do to harm Pride. Maybe at first to lessen competition, but in the end it helped them buy Pride at a much cheaper cost.
It was an international business decision and a smart one at that, just not a moral one.

No one is saying that a lot of the fights are fixed, but some were, like Takada/Coleman, and the only fight that Ogawa was in that wasn't fixed was the Fedor fight and the Yoshida fight too, and he lost those, being the top babyface in DSE's pro wrestling company, he even had a fight with the guy he was in a feud with.
Now, although the majority of the fights weren't fixed, Pride booked fights in a similar to Pro Wrestling. They built guys up by having them destroy lesser competition to make them look like monsters, then they took another monster they had built, and then had them fight to create a bigger fight, and it also helps that they have a big name on the show, looking impressive without putting him against another contender and having one of them lose right away.
Now, with Dana and the Yakuza, I don't think he had any clout to make a difference, he was a smaller promoter in a different country, no one would have given a shit, he wouldn't have been taken seriously, especially because of the Fertita family history. People would have just dismissed it because Dana didn't matter one little bit in Japan

Yes, Pride did make a lot of matches like Zulu and Fedor, but there was always real danger involved. Any of those guys could have won the fight.
Now I am sure that some of the fights at the start might have been works, but the UFC has done some dirty stuff themselves.
And the thing about Dana having "clout", he didn't need any "clout" in Japan. He has/had the MMA media's ear. All he has to do is start talking to people about it, get the rumors going. Once they are going and the accusations are made publicly, by anyone, the public in Japan is quick to react. Businesses accused of Yakuza involvement are shunned, it doesn't matter who says what. Once it is out there, they are shunned.
The second anyone mentioned Pride had anything to do with the Yakuza, they were doomed, guilty or not.
It had Zuffa's breath all over it.
