People also forget that Brownes only loss came because of a leg injury. Before that, he was picking BF apart easily.

I'm sure the broken hand sucked, but I think the outcome is the same regardless. He fought a much better wrestler that he couldn't take down. And as it turns out, Cormier was also the better striker. Faster, more volume...Cormier's sub defense was also very good. Cormier may be the best heavy in the world though.

But Josh wasn't going to win that fight. He was in the Air most of the time and Cormier looked to be the superior fighter out of the gate. It possibly could of been more competitive but, Barnett looked in trouble when the bell sounded.
I just rewatched the fight and I disagree completely. Barnett did not look in trouble in the from the bell and it was fairly even for at least half of the first round. I stopped watching after that but Barnett not having a broken hand could have centainly changed things.

Again I think people need to watch the second half of this fight again, beyond the leg lock Barnett looked more dangerous standing to me with Cormier really hanging on clinching him against the cage.

I'm pretty sure he also had the flu or a bad sinus infection as well, I remember him sounding sick in all his interviews leading up to the fight, unless I am thinking of the Nandor fight but I think it was the Cormier one.

DC would simply be a bad matchup for Barnett under the best of circumstances. Better wrestler, faster/quicker, and strong as shit.

That maps perfectly against Barnett's skillset.

I wouldn't take much of anything about Barnett's general level of performance from that particular matchup.

No, he wasn't. He was throwing the most ridiculously retarded kicks that I've ever seen, threw a couple of overhand rights which got blocked, got countered pretty hard once which made him stumble a bit and had to pull the most blatant fence grab since Frye vs Goodridge to stop Bigfoot's takedown.
