what is it with people having a problem with these things?
i assume fans that criticise UFC fighter performances are educated fans(=have trained martial arts)
i assume the UFC is here to provide us with the best fighters(NOT the best/most spectacular fights; if you want spectacle, you go watch WWE where they have choreographers)
if you REALY fight, i.e. with your life/wallet to lose (bar fights are just hotheaded arguments, come on now, a fight is a conflict when if you lose, you LOSE something, like money in the UFC or your life on the street), you gotta fight SMART. cause on the street, you're not losing UFC money, you're losing your LIFE. a true fighter never risks. this aint hollywood. instead, the fighter CONTROLS, so that he gets absolutely certain he wont lose.
a fighter is there to WIN, not to entertain fans. a fighter's job is, if the rules allow it, to grab a gun and shoot at the opponent. a fighter is NOT supposed to want a fair, competitive fight. so whats wrong with people controling their opponents and not letting them fight? what is wrong with inflicting 5 punches and receiving 0 punches throughout a whole fight?
anybody who thinks fighters should just exchange wild punches and go for the KO to entertain fans is either:
-a WWE fan(as opposed to a fight fan)
-wants to see amazing fights like in hollywood, not realistic fights with the best fighters
-has never been to a real "you could lose your life or your wallet" fight and cant understand why a REAL fight realy IS about "fighting not to lose".
so, "control is not fighting"?if someone's tactic limits the damage he takes, especialy by an aggressive, trained foe, that IS fighting. stop saying "its not fighting". if you think fighting is about highlight reel KOs, you've got it all wrong.its about SURVIVAL. always has been.
