I havent seen this brought up but what if MSG themselves dont want the UFC there? I mean, it cant just be the officials and not the owners of MSG that are against the UFC being legal there in NY.

since when do the MSG owners have any say in New York state politics?

Also Dana has already talked about how the MSG people would love to have a Ufc event and are hoping for the 20th anniversary event in November.

Dana White says that Madison Square Garden has no problems with the UFC, and would love to work with them.
