People still call it shallow which I don't think is true at all. With new signings (up and comers, and established guys like Makovsky, Montague, etc) and guys dropping down (Pickett, Jorgenson) I think it's doing very well now.
Granted there may be only a few guys who look like they could maybe beat DJ, but lots of good guys in general as contenders. So not like we'll see the same guys fight over and over.
Meanwhile BW which has never been that great is worse off now. I think that is the weakest division right now.
I don't know why people ever freaked out about the division being shallow. Any division will look weak when it's just starting out. Nobody has had any chance to put together a win streak or make a name for themselves.
Now that the division has been around for a while we're starting to see some real progression. It's already more solid than it gets credit for, but in another couple of years I think it'll be really strong based on how well its developed so far and the amount of talent that it already has.
its hard not to be entertained when there is never a slow moment during the fight haha.
Most underrated division in the sport. Besides WW and MW IMO FLW is the most stacked division in the UFC as well as the most exciting now that LHW keeps losing people. All the people that think Flyweights suck are just insecure and ignorant as fighting's more about skill then size.
