For example, this year the UFC is on Par to do 6 million ppv buys, so that's what- 50bucks on average, means 300million in ppv revenue.
Second, 100million/year from the Fox Deal. That's about 400million in Revenue.
Factor in live gate, sponsorship deals, ad revenue, international deals with networks... that's about another 100million bucks in revenue.
So that's about 500million USD in annual revenue for Zuffa. And this is a very basic breakdown. If you count corporate ppvs and really dig into international deals, the number could be much higher. Not to mention internet revenue, merchandise sales, pr events...etc.
Meanwhile, the top guy in the UFC makes 12million a year in revenue.
Sounds like a lot, but consider GSP gets only 10% and Zuffa keeps 90% (estimating he makes 150mil for zuffa)... GSP is the one risking brain damage and being abducted by aliens...
Even Don King isn't that bad.
UFC only gets a portion of ppv buys. The network provider gets a big chunk of it.
You are also not counting the thousands of employees they have to pay besides the fighters
The per event contract employees they have to pay.
They cost of renting a venue.
The cost of insurance for every event.
Shipping and moving HUGE amounts of gear/equipment from venue to venue
Cost of marketing
Costs of expanding in markets.
Costs of flying/transporting a large crew from event to event as well as food and hotel costs.
THE UFC has HUGE expenses to pay for besides just paying fighters money.
