Enough with the Penn butthurts

I'm a big fan of Penn and wasn't sold with this fight at all. Edgar beat him in his natural weight (LW). What makes the Penn huggers (I'm a hugger too) think he can beat Edgar in a lower weight class is beyond me. It takes away his power which is his only chance to beat Edgar.

Let's focus on the FW w/o Penn (he ain't touching that belt)
I believe Edgar is a monster in this class.
He may not be as flashy as Swanson
He may not be as explosive as Mendez
He may not be as strong as Aldo.
But you can see his work ethics on display everytime he fights.
I hope he fights a top 3 opponent next.

He's fighting Swanson most likely.

Why is this thread written as if there is anyone that thinks Penn can beat Edgar or that Penn will actually fight again?

I thought this was a thread written before the fight took place after reading it so I decided to look at the date and time and sure enough it was made today AFTER Penn got his ass kicked last night, finished, then retired.

It was naive to think Edgar would lose to Penn.

Penn might be a legend and a beloved fighter but he has retired and should have never returned.

He showed up only to pick his check against Rory and Edgar.

I don't see how ANYONE, Penn nuthugger or not would have thought he was going to win vs. Edgar. Edgar has two wins over him already and Penn isn't getting any younger. He has had an amazing career with great accomplishments (that some idiots or trolls around here want to try and crap on) but thinking he was going to beat Edgar last night is just silly.

It's not that he lost, it's how he lost. And how he looked inside that cage in general. That's the cause of the butthurt, it's hard to see a legend finish his career in that fashion.

As for Edgar, we can finally see get to see him fight other FW contenders (no disrespect to Oliveria whom i a fan of). This fight was just a waste of time, Frankie should've spent that time building up momentum for another shot at the belt.

I'm a semi half hearted Penn hater, but I actually thought he might have had a decent chance against Edgar.

Prior to that he still had some return fire for Diaz, and a little bit for Rory as well, but that fight/opponent can't be compared to Edgar as Rory was just so overwhelmingly large.

Truthfully I was a tad bit worried for Edgar and the rest of sherdog 'cuz if Penn wins, we'd hear no end from the Penn fanatics! lol.
