Even though he lost on the scorecards of all the judges, on the scorecards of every reputable neutral site scoring that fight independently, lost statistically based on independently collected metrics, was losing badly at the end of the fight, was the only guy close to being finished, and was the only guy who appeared mentally defeated when that fight was over, Gus still got to jump back to the front of the contender line after a single win against a non-top 10 guy.
It worked! The UFC caved, and booked a quick rematch with nothing in between to warrant another title shot. Gus has received the gift "do over" based solely on the complaints of people who believe he somehow deserved the win the first time around.
Yet for some reason, here we are again. Instead of being happy about getting the rematch you had wanted and being excited about that, the pointless bitching continues on, the horse keeps getting pulverized... claiming that's not what you mean to do doesn't change that you are.
