Wedge and rotating were the best designs. The saw-blade ones were poor due to speed and accuracy I.e. Nightmare.
I realized that as the show went on. Seemed like anytime there was a big thing with a bunch of saws on it, it would malfunction 90 seconds in and just get rammed into by the other bot.
Just looked for Battlebots on youtube. Found some other show that's still going. The bots are allowed to have flamethrowers, for real. The rotating designs can shred metal too, good stuff.
