The Anderson Silva would be destroyed by fighter "xxx" superthread
As everyone here knows Anderson Silva is always going to lose against the next fighter he faces. He is also a duck and a coward, and clearly overrated. Oh, and his weakness is wrestlers.
So I thought I would do a little compilation of our most expert Sherdoggers predictions of how Anderson was going to be destroyed by whomever he was fighting at the time. So here we go, enjoy! (oh, and if your name appears there don't be mortified, you are one of thousands).
***** *****
1. Dan Henderson
Check the answers in this thread, almost everyone is picking Hendo by domination! Hilarious.
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...derson-736499/
AJax: "I am pretty confident Hendo will beat him. Hendo will be able to defend the clinch better than anyone else Silva has faced. Hendo has never been knocked out, and I just don't see that happening this fight. Hendo should have no trouble taking him down and controlling the fight. Everyone underestimates Dan's right hand. Silva's only real chance at victory in this fight is to win by submission, which is highly unlikely"
Dirty Third: "I'm very confident in Dan in this fight for two big reasons: 1. Anderson's takedown defense isn't good enough to stop an Olympic alternate. 2. Even if they do get stood back up several times, Hendo has great boxing defense, fast and powerful strikes of his own, an iron chin and a lot of heart. He won't be stopped and will keep fighting. I still think Anderson is a top 5 MW, but I've always known Hendo would beat him since Pride days when the match looked like it was going to happen"
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...er-ufc-651456/
KikNRun: "A.Silva very.. if not most overated fighter in the UFC. I saw his fight the other night vs a weak Travis Lutter and Silva could have easily lost that fight even with Lutter being exhausted from cutting so much weight last minute. The main reason A.Silva is king right now is that the division is lacking severely compared to all other UFC divisions. If the division was stacked he could still win the title but his job defending it would not be so easy"
On the same note.. i have seen many GSP vs A.Silva threads and how Silva would destroy GSP... The way Lutter was doing on the ground vs Silva... GSP would manhandle him with double leg take downs..
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...-silva-666099/
Sam Samerson: "Give him somone who has got the ground on lock with anyone, like filho lindland or henderson. Those guys will be too strong and crafty to get caught up an exchange and will be able to control anderson too well from the ground. I picture him getting his face pounded in by elbows and fists and eventually getting his guard passed and pounded out"
2. Forrest Griffin
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...-silva-972066/
Peteyandjia: "Btw I could see Forrest wearing down and submitting Anderson by RNC, like he did to Shogun, but that doesn't mean he has "underrated BJJ"
3. Demian Maia
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...fight-1150031/
RacMan93: "Anderson has overated striking and is nowhere near maia`s level of grapling
jbrock11: "Maia would get underhooks take silva down and it would be gameover...bad matchup for silva only person who could possibly stop maia has to have great wrestling"
4. Chael Sonnen 1
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...fight-1149693/
Ice That Jaw: "Sonnen is extremely active on top and the only losses he has in his last 12 fights were subs by 2 guys who are unarguably in the top 5 BJJ fighters in all of MMA. Anderson just hasn't shown anything to prove he could sub Sonnen and I wonder how tired he would get if he couldn't put him away in the first 2 rounds"
5. Vitor Belfort
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...erson-1529309/
Piorun: "Vitor will be waiting as the better kind of Spider. And he will stand up, and counter attacks. Belfort is too much explosive for Anderson, when one hit will connect, then he will destroy him. And Silva will not be able to counter it by his "boxing tricks", it cloud work well on some slow meat heads but will not work now"
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...ggery-1525653/
cagedreams: "Vitor is light years ahead of anyone striking that Anderson has faced. Has more power speed and if you watch the franklin fight is much more composed and explodes only when needed. People need to realize this is the first striking test Anderson has ever faced. After a few minutes we might realize Anderson was never really what people thought"
6. Yushin Okami
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...t-gsp-1535127/
Jack Da Ripper: "Yushin Okami has already beat Anderson Silva before they were both in UFC, so Okami should fight Anderson next. Okami has a very good record and has beat all the top middleweights in UFC. Okami would take Anderson down and smash him.
"Okami is bigger than Anderson, Okami is the biggest middleweight in UFC, i read he has got up to 230 before. Okami would do what Sonnen did to Silva but Okami never ever gets submitted.. you wold not catch him in something like a triangle"
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...ground-742198/
Randy Rollins: "And prove that he is the strongest fighter in the 185 lbs. division. I know that Franklin said Anderson was really strong, but I feel like that was more because of Franklin's weak mental state and Anderson's strong clinch game. And then Okami will pound out Anderson for the victory after he takes the mount"
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...-dana-1535055/
Redannihilation: "He already beat Anderson, Anderson cheated with an illegal move and got DQ'd, how the Anderson fans have decided this means Anderson won is beyond me. Yushin is a good wrestler with a good chin and submission defence. He's the perfect style for beating Anderson, he's Chael with sub defence basically and he already earned his shot he should get it, not another fight for a shot"
7. Chael Sonnen 2
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...think-2113893/
DoomsdayKillz: "How does anyone think that silva is gonna win again? Sonnen is gonna do the same thing he did for the first 95% of that fight for the entire thing this time except I'm expecting to see more elbows and arm triangle attempts. He pretty much had an arm triangle in the first fight so for whomever was arguing with me that Silva held him in guard the entire time in some other thread on here about the 'rib injury', you should rewatch it"
http://forums.sherdog.com/forums/f2/...ified-2136551/
draco550: "It's official: Anderson is trying to get disqualified
He's scared and doesn't want this fight to happen. He knows that Sonnen will dominate him again and he'll lose unless he comes up with a hail mary. This will be like GSP vs Hughes II or Lesnar vs Mir II"
***** *****
So next up comes Chris Weidman, the next Anderson killer. I'm not even going to put the threads here because you know them well enough, according to Sherdog he will destroy and humiliate Silva easily.
Will people ever learn? According to our current evidence, its highly unlikely. They will only move on to the next guy in line, and to the next, and to the next...

That's a lore invented by Silva nuthuggers, a few quotes don't prove anything.
Anderson was the clear favorite in all of those fights. The only times i've seen huge numbers of people picking against Silva is when he fought Hendo and the second Sonnen fight.
Anderson is awesome but you guys suck. No need to re-write history in order to elevate his accomplishments, because they're already stellar as it is.

Very informative thread.
It's funny how people act as if people thought Anderson's opponents never stood a chance in fans minds.
I still remember all the "Vitor by KO" posts leading up to that fight

Silva is scared of everyone next in line, until he beats and humilliates that guy, and proceed to be scared of the next one.

Leading into the Vitor fight the sherdog poll had Anderson favorited only 55% compared to Vitor's like 40% and the rest said "too close to call"
Also there are plenty threads to bump where people claim Forrest Grifin would beat Anderson with a lot of people agreeing. It is you guys actually rewriting history
