I eventually want to be nearly totally paleo (other then cutting out homemade tortillas and legumes). It seems like the healthiest most balanced diet available. I can't think of any better diet. People think it's low carbs but it's really not. If you need them you eat them, pretty straight forward. Patatoes and fruit are often encouraged.
I don't have a problem digesting Pinto beans though and probably won't ever give them up. I wash them, soak them over night, wash again and then cook. Never give me trouble.

I no longer eat wheat, barley, rye, etc.
I lost ~15 lbs of fat gained after a knee surgery by doing nothing but changing that. I also lost lifelong symptoms of IBS. I am not positive for celiac. My energy levels and mental clarity are much higher and I suffer notably whenever I ingest some grains in terms of digestion, fatigue, hangover-like headaches, and mind fog.
I eat rice, tomatoes, grass-fed dairy, potatoes, etc. Just avoid grains, sugars, most legumes, and so-called "vegetable" oils. I splurge once in a while on legumes for tasty cuban/mexican food but it punishes my gut afterward.
"Paleo" is too broad of a term and it doesn't really mean much. Avoiding grains has tangible health benefits for me though, and probably a lot more people. If your body isn't bothered by them though, munch away, I won't stop you.

Seems like alot have had success with it. Good to hear. Im a few days in and there was definitely an adjustment period to get use to for me. Paleos tend to have different things they cut out or allow in their diet from one person to the next, I personally have cut out grains/gluten and dairy. I will come back in a couple of weeks with an update and see if I can add to the people who have had success with it.

Over 2 years here, I find it easier to stick with it if you cut things out 100%

I give the stinkeye to anyone using the word "paleo" in any serious way.

I like the emphasis paleo puts on minimizing consumption of processed foods, but I've yet to see the science that shows that grains are bad in and of themselves. Plus any diet that would exclude low fat dairy and legumes would be hard for me to sustain over the long term. I think people can and do thrive long term on paleo, but that's due to the reduction in processed food, the massive increase in fresh fruits and veggies and focus on sufficient protein from lean meats. Supplementing a clean natural diet like that with beans and skim milk will not negate the benefits.

from what ive read on grains ,they have protease inhibitors hat block the absorbsion of protein,so if you eat them (grains) with protein(meats) they block the absorbsion,so you have big masses of undigested protein going through your systems,
