Hey Gerbil, for some reason your thread reminded me of one of your blog entries. I guess it could be titled, "Purple belt submits black belt, and black belt gets angry". I remember you wrote that when you were a purple belt in Brazil, you submitted a black belt, and he started yelling at you.

This is exactly why ive stayed with the same gym even though there are other options available where I live.

If grappling/mma is all structure/serious its going to become mentally brutal year after year. Better to keep it laid back till its crunch time.
