I thought you were supposed to use your free leg to push on his butt while you roll? Not sure like I said, still new to the game. But yeah he would just frantically roll to get out of bounds.
Thanks for giving your opinions

the push on his butt move is usually used to knee bar escape, you cannot roll out of bound against a knee bar as you are likely to reap your own knee.
the reason why you push on the butt with your free leg is take your knee cap out to avoid the oppoenent to put leverage on the knee. something similar like pulling your elbow out of an arm bar.
In fact, when applying a straight knee bar you should not be allowed to roll and reap the knee.

Personally I think the "bowing out to your team mate is the most BS common thing in BJJ.Its not MMA,just have the match. It really sucks when 1 competitor had a battle in the quarter finals while the other guy sat out his quarter final match because his team mate gave him the match. This is happens alot with guys from different schools(same affiliations) too.Two guys that haven't even met each other.

BJJ WB in a novice Judo competition. Horribly fake a sacrifice throw, attempt armbar or triangle from guard. Opponent stands up (if you could call it that, opponent never really went down), ref calls matte, dude tries again rinse and repeat.
I'm cool with BJJ'ers in Judo comps, but most of the ones I've played with have at least tried to score the ippon standing before killing on the ground. This shit was just horribly blatant and shame on the ref for not realizing it for what it was. It'd be like me Osotogari'ing BJJ WBs in a BJJ comp, then letting him escape so i could do it again and again.
There is some justice though, as noobish Judoka got wise and cartwheeled after another fake throw and score the win with a pin. BJJ WB was pissed and left after one match (double elim). He was no BJ Penn.....

Happens in Judo too. But usually just involves a kata-style throw for Ippon. Throwing the match if you will.
Luckily my old team had a standing rule that you "fight" your teammate even harder.

people who tap, don't get their arm broken, stand up and say they didn't tap. i've had it happen and i've seen it happen. the one time it happened to me i subsequently Fedor-choked the dude, and when he patted the mat I whispered 'louder' until the tap echoed through the room.
i was running the replay camera for scholastic nationals a few years back and saw it happen twice. one girl was immediately admonished by her coach, rightfully so. another kid's dad thew one of those i-live-vicariously-through-my-kid meltdowns as the referee conferred with the panel and checked the tape.
it's such a slimeball thing to do. you got beat fair and square, you gave up, you aren't still on the mat holding your damn elbow.
i also overheard a guy i used to train with tell a person i was about to play not to tap if i caught them in an armbar, because i was too nice to follow through. i've since changed that policy.

I'd crank every armbar I got after hearing some shit like that.

One guy at a local tournament put tiger balm in his beard and rubbed it in the opponent's eyes from top position. This was in the white belt division.

I think just general sandbagging is the worst, not because it is individually the most heinous offense but because of it's ubiquity.
