Pendlay is an Oly coach, 300kg total is most likely Snatch + C&J.

Unfortunately rippetoe does have his cult but nowhere near the extent of cultfit.

For all his faults at least rippetoe was a powerlifter and competed several times, what did glassman do? Didn't he compete in a bunch of races and not even finish them?

One of my friends and a very good trainer in his own right is training for the crossfit games. He even went out and found a respected crosfit trainer to help him prep. He does it not because he believes it is the best model of training, but because he likes it. He is a huge Rich Froning nuthugger so I've gotten to learn quite a bit about the guy. From my knowledge, the top crossfitters all periodize their training. Even the guy whom is coaching my friend uses some sort of intelligent approach to training instead of the randomness that crossfit portrays. My friend went through a strength phase, where he built up his max lifts, and is now balls deep in a conditioning phase.

Crossfit in itself is one big farce as their top competitors follow specific programming in order to reach the top tier of the games.


I also have a sneaking suspicion that steroids are rampant within the top crossfitters. I mean, when winning these comps is going to bring them a ridiculous amount of money through prizes, sponsors, and new members at their gym, then I'd be willing to bet the majority of young adults would be willing to take that extra step to win.
