I'd like to see him fight a striker so I can see what an Icelandic pinata looks like.

Talk about sending him to the wolves. It's only his 2nd fight in the UFC. Let the guy develop. One of the big problems with UFC (although they have been better as of late) is not developing their prospects into the stars that they can be.

Gunnar would lose at this point, he doesn't have the takedowns to put someone like Fitch on his ass and I'm not sure his striking would even beat Fitch.
Fitch just fought and survived Maia, pretty sure there isn't a better way to put his submission defense to the test.

Put him in against Erik Silva and we'll see how that no-guard strategy works. If it works, I'm his biggest fan.

Too early to throw Gunnar to the wolfs. Build him up some more.

The only advantage I see Fitch having is in the striking department and having more octagon experience. Fitch isn't a great striker but he's pretty good, he just doesn't use it as much because his bread and butter is the ground.

Gunni has never fought outside of Europe at this stage. He has a massive potential, everyone knows about his grappling credentials, but tonight I was impressed by his striking. Defensively he didn't look great and could definitely do with a lot of work, but his reflexes, chin and speed are attributes not a lot of fighter naturally have.
Long flights, more media attention than he's used to, fighting in oppenents hometowns, etc etc are all things Gunnar's gonna have to deal in the future, the slower he's brought along the better IMO. He could be a very special fighter, let him develop
Next matchup? Winner of one of the 3 minor WW fights at 158, Voelker/Cote, Story/Mulhern, Miller/Mein
