I guess if ueda wins the tournament that would be solid but he really needs to be in teh UFC fighting Cruz, Barao, Mayday, Faber, Pickett, Ivan, Wineland, Jorgensen, Assuncao or in Bellator fighting Dudu, Galvao, Warren, Nog.

Instead he was beating the likes of Chanti Johnson and Chuck Jordan. Nam wouldn't be a legit champion for XFC. He'd have gotten stomped in a tournament well before he reached Dantas.

And he didn't get used in a tournament because he was signed as a replacement for Rodrigo Lima who then got his work visa finally and regained his spot since he's much better than Nam and got the promise first. It was an unfortunate situation, where somebody would get screwed, but better off the lesser replacement fighter in Nam. Then they cut him loose to look for a work a whole 2 and a half months later because they weren't going to have another tourney soon for him to participate in. It was hardly a long time where they sat on him and an unjust release like he tried to portray.
Defensive much? Did Dantas get stretcher jobbed or not? The answer is yes he did. No matter how much some of you like to pretend that Dantas getting knocked out by Nam doesn't matter, it does. I don't see why Dantas is getting a pass for losing when other champions in similar situations do not. He beat the champ, yes he's the lineal champ. Sorry you're upset about it.

I also find it funny that some of you are describing Dantas as being uncharacteristically aggressive in the Nam fight. You must not be paying attention to Dantas' fighting because he always fights going forward. This wasn't a case of a defense first fighter going into a fight and throwing rolling whatever-the-hell kicks, it was the case of a fighter doing what he normally does and paying for it. So he threw flying knees. Umm, he's thrown them before. If I remember correctly he ended Wilson Reis with one. It just happens that Nam's striking isn't garbage and he was able to capitalize. Furthermore, who are you to be saying that Nam can't make it in a tournament? Dantas just fought MARCOS FUCKING GALVAO and you're acting like Nam could never, ever, in the history of ever make it to a title shot. Yeah, ok.

Nam beat him clean. No excuse should be made, a loss is a loss.

It was offensive. I wasn't defending anyone. It was a principle attack against your stupid post. I always point out how invalid of a champ Serra was because he was coming off one win split decision win over Lytle. But Nam didn't even have that. Not even close in fact. Why would Nam deserve a shot at the title, let alone the title? Everybody with a brain knows Serra was a joke of a champ who got his shot because of TUF. The tourney system is being used in Bellator to do away with arbitrary accomplishments such as that. You're arguing they should dole out even more arbitrary accomplishments.

No, Tyson Nam couldn't get near winning a tourney because Galvao did. Before Bellator Galvao had beaten Paixao, Osawa, Kirwan, and drew with Ueda. That's more indicative he could compete on a higher level than anything Nam did. Then in Bellator, before the tourney he won, he deserved to beat Warren, did beat Beebe, and arguably beat Vila. Then he has already proven he can win a tournament. Nam just landed one punch on an opponent.

And yes, it couldn't have been more than a fluke which wouldn't happen again, and that's not the way Dantas normally fights. He fights a distance game and occasionally threw one flying knee at a time. Not multiple ones in a row with space to make him predictable and create an easy opportunity for a counter. That's just common sense. Flying knees require the element of surprise. If you're going to throw repeated knees it has to be with no space in between from a controlled muay thai clinch. Not jumping at a guy. C'mon.

I remember Vila winning the first round based purely off of takedowns and attempted control and it all went to shit after the first due to his shit cardio.

Dantes got caught up fighting at home in Nam fight . You could tell he wanted highlight finish and got caught . It remind me a bit of Arlovski flying knee at Fedor, that punch would knocked out any BW . That k.o would have ruined majority of fighters , Dantes imo is a top five talent

If you can't see the difference in how Dantas fought Nam and how he fought Galvao (or anyone else for that matter) you just plain don't know what you're looking at.

Dantas f'd up and thought he didn't have to respect Nam, and got KO'd for it. There's no way it'd go down like that again.

You know, you're post is really enlightening. Now I know why we live in a world where people like Penn can be praised for losing fights while his opponents are trashed for winning. Were the circumstances that lead to Serra getting a title shot fair? No, but it doesn't change the fact that he won or make him an "invalid" champ. Winning a fight doesn't make you invalid, but losing sure as hell does.

And why are you so opposed to Nam getting a shot at Dantas? Do you just hate Nam? And don't give me this "arbitrary fights" crap either. I don't see you speaking out about Bellator giving people who haven't beaten their champ 1 fight ago getting non title shots without going through a tournament. If Dantas had won, I doubt you'd be so opposed to Bellator ruining the meaning of their tournaments. Someone who knocked your ass out shouldn't have to jump through hoops to get a crack at you. Even more since Bellator has absolutely nothing lined up for him. And lol, at you knowing full well that Nam would never get through a tournament. I just think you tell yourself that the ease the blow of Dudu get his doors blown-off the hinges.

Dantas started using a jab heavy attack (a way to control distance) in his last fight with Galvao. Before that he was not using it and was not some sort of master of distance like you claim. Lyoto Machida he was not. Wonder why his style changed so much from being aggressive to using a jab and circling away? Hmm, maybe because he took that lose to Nam more seriously than you do.

If Bellator would have given Nam a shot at Bellator belt after his win i wouldnt have complained, it would have had a good story and Dudu would have gotten revenge on a bigger stage

Bellator needs to get Ueda back and make Dudu vs. Ueda II so Dudu can avenge that loss.
