Dudu Dantes & Whats Next

How awesome did Dantes look last night, he used a complete arsnenal of weapons from jabs, low kick, high kick, spinning back kicks and uppercuts, he looked back to being the real deal

Though i would love to see him get revenge on Nam i don't think that will happen, Nam would get wreck in rematch IMO. The fact Bellator didn't do a BW tournament this season still blows my mind, there next tournament will be stacked though.

Only real threat i see to Dudu at this very moment is if Pitbull deceides to do the drop to 135 but even though im HUGE fans of both i would take Dantes in that match

He is gonna have to wait till the fall for a contender to emerge.

This is why I dont like the tournament format, Dantas is fine and is ready to fight, Pitbull is begging Bellator for a fight and just lost a close decision to the Bellator FW champ, a guy who is top 5 in the world.

pitbull wants to fight and is willing to drop down. If they werent locked into this format a Dudu/Pitbull BW title fight could be made, would be an easy sell and would be one of the best fights Bellator can put on in the entire org.

matchup makes sense on so many levels yet he would have to win a tournament which means they wouldnt fight till teh end of the year, Oct/Nov and thats if he won the tournament.

You could do a tournament with Warren, Sotto, Beebe/Marx, Iron etc in teh summer and have Dudu/Pitbull fight for the BW title around the same time. Dudu gets another fight, stays active, Pitbull stays active and then you have the winner fighting the tournament winner latter in the year.

Seems to make sense to me but they wont do it.

Bellator knows they need keep champs active, especially when you have one as young and exciting as Dantes. That Nam knock out would have ruined alot of fighters but Dudu came back better then ever, it would be a shame if he would have to sit till fall.
Let it play out and see if Bellator will be able to come up with a solution

Right now in Bellators 135 division, I really don't see anybody really giving a challenge to Dudu. They need to get Soto back or get Pitbull to drop.

Yeah, he had some trouble with wrestling vs Alexis Villa so I would like to see him against a heavy wrestling based fighter

If I was Bellator, I'd talk to Pitbull and tell him if he would be willing to move down he'd get a title shot against Dudu even though it contradicts their tournament format, but it would be reasonable way for them to keep Dudu busy.

If not, then I would work around with other promotions like ONE FC or DEEP and would try to get Bibiano, DJ.taiki, Maeda or Imanari and would set up a non title fight 3 round fight for Dudu to keep him busy and occupied instead of having him wait around for the winner of the next bantamweight tournament.
