St Valintines Day Massacre

Today we remember the true "Greatest Of All Time" Sugar Ray Robinson and celebrate his victory over Jake Lamotta. 85-0 amatuer record, pro record 173-19-6 . After cleaning house in America he went on a world tour fighting everywhere. He avenged every loss and never lost more than two in a row. The true best who ever laced up the gloves.

Not doubting you, but I can't think of who he didn't avenge a loss to? Was it Maxim?

Fair enough. Robinson, like most boxers hung around the sport a little too long. Towards the end of his career he lost to subpar guys, like Archer, Stan HArrington and Ferd Hernandez.

Agreed most of his final fights were just for a check, money management was not his thing.

Most of his fights period were just for a check.. Robinson hated boxing. He would often renegotiate his pay from the locker room just before a fight. But, he was still the best fighter ever

How do people feel about Ray's fights with Fullmer? Was he past his prime by then? Basilio?

Most people who give their all to what they do end up saying they hate it.

Daniel day Lewis has said on record multiple times that he hates acting yet he's on the brink of a third Oscar.
