For clarifications and explanations regarding thread deletions and moves

What's relevant is relative.

Sometimes with similar threads one makes the cut for various reasons while others don't. I wasn't deleted, just moved.

Ease back on the throttle there a bit. I was referring to your thread in the Heavies.

What's relevant to moderators regarding a thread is relative to a number of factors.

Is it a duplicate topic? Does it belong in the forum it was started? Is the thread taking a bad turn due to flaming, jokes, or being derailed with memes? Was it posted during a particular time when more important topics are relevant?

In your case, a thread speculating on a fighter moving up or down in a weight class is as common as dirt and often get Wastelanded. What determines if any one of none remains in the fight forums can differ from mod to mod because we all maintain different levels of activity and choice but basically follow the same set of standards when deciding.

Hundreds of threads get moved or deleted every day. You've started 266 threads of your own. I had to go back 68 threads to August of last year to find the last one of yours that was sent to the Wasteland. Hardly worth making a fuss over imo.

I wasn't going to make a fuss of it, at all. Like I said in my first post, I didn't really care until I came upon a thread just like mine, but more trollish.

I don't see the harm in wanting to know what SPECIFICALLY about my thread warranted getting wastelanded, especially while two other similar threads made just a couple of days later, were allowed. At least if I know, I'll be able to avoid doing something similar in the future, and won't have to ask the same question in the support forum again.

Also, where do you see 266 threads created by me? When I do a search, I only see 117 (and have had a thread wastelanded as recently as December). Sounds like you might have searched a different poster's threads...

I just listed a variety of reasons for a thread getting Wastelanded so I can't give you any specifices to avoid that from happening to any future threads of yours. It's really nothing to worry about.

I know for a fact that I haven't made anywhere CLOSE to as many threads as you said, and like I said, I obviously have a thread wastelanded from much more recently than August...

Okay, you are correct about the thread in December, I missed that one. The one in August was under your previous name.

As for the difference in the number of threads started that you can see and the number that I can see, that would be the 149 reported posts that you've made. They count as started threads becuase that's how they appear in the reports forum.

I wasn't implying that there's anything wrong with reporting posts.

On the contrary, we rely quite heavily on members helping us out in this manner. We couldn't possibly do our job nearly as well if they didn't.

Why have my threads been the target of this prejudiced eradication and censure?

innocuous threads about shows like Girls and Saved by the Bell and a PBS documentary deleted from Mayberry in which threads about tv shows are common place.

Onto more "controversial" threads like disbanding of blackzillian camp. My thread was the first one on that topic after the fight, but it wasn't the last. yet somehow all the other threads have been left untouched and my post was retroactively deleted long after it fell off the 1st 10 pages of active posting.

and ironically a thread in the support section, appropriately, asking how does a mod decide whether a thread gets deleted or wastelanded. Perfectly reasonable thread given the intention of the subforum. yet deleted without cause.

all of this reprisal initiated by a thread I made this morning that Hendo would have lost to a guy like Bonnar. Which apparently is not up to the par of usual Sherdog discourse. Even though a 5ft8 Hendo with short reach, no tdd, losing against a 6ft4 Bonnar is certainly not farfetch.

A mod has a gripe with me and is taking far too much liberties with his moderation. So my threads all get deleted for dubious reasons then I get a double yellow for having too many threads deleted. What kind of catch 22 reasoning is this?
