1. See 2.

2. Take a look at the TKD poomse {post #64} @ the lower end of the list on your link.... then look @ the Shotokan kihon kata....

3. AH, what are you trying to accomplish? Get serious & have me to dinner along with Sinister.....

4. Do a little homework. Was going to put up a good vid, when I ran into "Answer Man" VVVV

5. The part before 'or' doesn't deserve an answer from the MMA media site of the year.... the part after 'or' is I'm a local karate champion because of the traditional karate training which values kata, kihon & kumite karate methods over sport fighter-pitty pads....

EDIT: I CAVED INTO THE PRESSURE FROM YOU & MR. CARTOONS. HERE'S THE LEGITIMACY OF YOUR POINT, AND A TKD SEMINAR BUILT JUST FOR YOU.......

4. im just pulling your chain " karate man "
1. local.

2. local means < regional.... ha ha.... now pulling your chainy....

3. I've been pretty much all over my metropolitan area.... so hood(S) plural is appropriate.....

BTW, there's local guys who can beat me, if you bother to read my prior posting in midst of the 'comic book' insults.... There's really expert people out there I can't touch in fighting & have said so..... don't be so 'gay' {borrowing a quote from Hit Girl in the movie Kick ASS.}....

Isn't weird how KarateStylists story constantly changes from "I don't spar" to "I compete in TSD tournaments only" to "I'm a local Karate champion!"

I mean, this is the same guy who beats up "local" instructors and whooped a golden glove boxer with one punch, he probably has killed so many people that he just forgets.

Yeah but every time someone challenges me when I run my mouth off, I dim mak them. You probably don't have the mental discipline to dim mak people.

yes indeed , it is not the same pattern but i can see the heavy influence of shotokan karate in some tkd patterns (except for absence of kicks ), thanks for sharing

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=

the karateka in the video demonstrates an excellent performance of how a kata or pattern should be done (2nd and 3rd kata)

this is a video of WTF tkd pattern during competition

I have never heard of anyone say "Kihon Kata" before. I've always referred to that as 'taikyoku shodan.' It's the first kata you learn.

^^^ My, the heavies have been busy little beavers....

^^^ Since you did the work, RE VID#1, I do not like the narrow front stance in this Shotokan karate {apparently} portrayal.... he also uses the C-stepping ***, while TSD proper does a lift & step.

>>> What do you suppose is the point of all this...? BTW, imo NICE DEMO--he's going slow re a learning mode.... he'll get killed in 'real' fighting, HUH?.....

EDIT: VID #2: Not real impressed with the TKD form. He's leaning his torso & hyper=extending the striking hand shoulder too much. Doing poomse, kata right is really tough....

TO BREIFLY SPEAK ON TOPIC: Found 'nother TKD sparring vid showing why, re the standard Japanese kata, Korean poomse, hyung---- WHY KIHON Round kicks were probably disfavored over front kicks for a self defense-fighting strategy.... but what's a dufus like me know....??

KarateStylist

*** C-stepping is legitimate technique, especially suited for actual combat. The greater lift & step of TSD aims @ better mental ^ physical skills....
