I guess this is just a sales pitch or it depends who you get? IDK, I did the 30 day trial with no problem. I liked it but it is just to far of a commute for me and to expensive when considering that there is no where to park without having to pay (and pay a lot). If you are in the area/work in the area and take transit it is a great option.

If standup is your main focus go to Xtreme Couture. Great atmosphere there too, everyone is respectful and will help you if you ask them. A lot of really skilled people there too. I learned more from people taking the bjj class than I did from the actual teachers.
It is a very laid back gym. Clifton Brown left Xtreme though. I assume you do not/did not do the gi class? Either way, I find if you ask you will get a wealth of knowledge from the instructors (if you ask Sam about any position he will usually be able to give a direct and quality answer or direct you to a video to see what you should do). It is more focused on rolling and if you have questions you can always ask.

Misha gives some great instruction and is an awesome competitor. In the GTA area, Xtreme is the cheapest gym I could find and has excellent instruction for it. It is more focused on MMA though. Pricewise, I do not think there is a cheaper gym (that is legit) than Xtreme right now...

Hoping to check out each of them, but any reviews/experience would be appreciated thanks!
Mecha is pretty much gone now isn't it? Anyway, I would add Evolucao to your list to check out. You mentioned Xtreme is to far. I would also check out Body of Four which has some awesome bjj competitors.

Thanks, Themarknguyen - Undisputed MMA seems like it focuses on teaching mostly Muay Thai to it's students, do you know if it has any BJJ or wrestling instructors?

The big problem I've found in Toronto is (well there's two actually) -

Most the gyms are totally for commercial means. They want to make money first and the rest will fall into place. So often there is no fight team or hight level coaches (i'm talking about MMA, not a specific school, for example I know Toronto BJJ is super high level, as are some Thai schools)

The second and really joining point, is the "MMA" gyms dont teach any MMA. They teach thai, Bjj, Wrestling etc, but not the transitional phases or specifics to MMA. I can train all my life with an amazing BJJ coach, but as soon as guys start throwing punches on the floor the dynamics change.

Although it doesn't exactly answer anything, I was hoping someone might chip in and have an answer for both of us. From what I can see, Joslins MMA in Hamilton is the best, however it is such a treck from Toronto Centre

I agree with techninja's second point about a lack of real MMA gyms in Toronto. In my experience most gyms specialize in striking or grappling and the other discipline is secondary.

I heard good things about Mecha MMA but I'm not sure if they are open anymore. They might be moving, I'm not really sure. There's no info on their site or Facebook.
