Ahh yeah man, I know the type faaar too well. Sorry for your loss.
OD's aren't aa common as you'd think though among long-term addicts. The big thing you mentioned was "on and off". Your tolerance gets high, so you do X amount (which is large). You stop for a little bit, and your tolerance goes down. But when you use again after a while, you've gotta make sure to remember that your tolerance has gone down, and now X amount isn't normal, it actually may be lethal. This scenario is the main cause for OD.
I speak from experience.

It's a real shame. I knew her when she was 7. She was such a good kid.
A lot of people are devistated.

Damn, I'm sorry man. A few of my good friends from high school have died this year from heroin ODs, it's rough. Sad to say but once someone falls into that shit, there's absolutely nothing you can do to help them. People who've never been there want to believe otherwise but it's the truth, you just have to hope for the best.

TZ speaks the truth. Nobody can convince you to get clean when you're truely addicted. You've gotta be 100% all-in for you. A million people trying to talk you away from youd next H shot isn't going to do anything honesty

I am 24 years old an had AA forced into my life at the age of 17 due to my continual alcoholic related charges. I paid no bit of attention to it and kept drinking, years later I realized that all those signs pointed directly to the Alcoholism that surrounded and engulfed my life. I lost a fiance over it, countless jobs, my vehicle and most importantly strained relationships with my family. If anyone ever says they want to stop drinking because they see it affecting there lives I hope my story is an encouraging one. I have been sober since december 14 of 2010 and I am truly grateful for that and so are a lot of other people. My life has improved and I hope, if you truly do want to stop that things go well for you on your journey. I used to view my sobriety as some monumentous achievement when in reality its just an overall better state of life, peace and happiness, that in and of itself is the most priceless thing one can receive. Good luck.

You know how many people do this, getting hammered and feeling like shit and promising never to do it again, yet it happens the following weekend? 99.9999999%
It's okay to admit that you like drinking, just give yourself 1 day a month to get wasted.

I made this decision years ago while I was still in college. I haven't regretted it once. In the end it's money lost, time lost, and a giant headache.
