But who really gives a damn what the TUF noobs think?
People who know something about MMA, fighters/old fans/even hardcore newer fans who have went back and watched MMA's classic fights with appreciation for what they were, know that Fedor is called GOAT for a reason.

Brock certainly could've put Fedor in some bad spots, but highly unlikely he would've won(at any point in their careers). A conservative gnp, which Lesnar employed after Mir made him tap, was not going to beat Fedor; he's too tough to try and nickel and dime a win out of. In that event, Fedor would've survived long enough to eventually catch Brock with strikes and end it brutally on the ground. He might also just do that right from the start if he could tag him before Brock secured a td.
Lesnar's only other real option is the go-for-broke, ape-shit gnp to get a ref stoppage. In that event, Fedor either sweeps him to get it standing where he can, at some point, land the inevitable punch(es) that send Brock swirling backwards like we saw in the Carwin/Cain fights, or he pulls a sub off from the bottom. In either case, outcome is the same.
Truth be told, I have a lot of respect for Brock as a fighter; I've defended him on multiple occasions on these boards to a lot of the same fairweather's that were riding his hype-train full-on 3yrs ago. But Fedor is just a terrible matchup for him. Just terrible. He's like anti-Brock or something. Too much power, versatility, aggression, toughness, etc. Put it another way: if you clearly cannot handle Cain's power and aggression, theres no reson to believe you can handle Fedor's.

Also I respect Fedor for retiring while on a 3 fight win streak.
Most guys never know when to hang it up. But for Fedor, it's like he said "You know what, I've lost three, now I got to go win three before I retire." And he actually did it, then didn't push his luck.
He probably could have still won a few more to be honest, against similar competition to Monson, Rizzo, etc.

Oh wait, infact I'm pretty sure Lesnar crumbled every time he got hit in the face/body. Fedor would shut him down instantly.

And Fedor lost almost every time he actually fought a bad matchup.
I think you're forgetting that Fedor's grappling didn't exactly evolve with the times.
To beat Lesnar, Fedor would have had to submit or sweep him from the the bottom position. Watch his fights against Brett Rogers, Werdum, Hendo, and Bigfoot. His grappling was very underwhelming from 2009-2012. What would he have done with Lesnar on top of him?

There may never be another fighter who can avoid the UFC and be considered #1. Amazing how well it worked for Fedor. He was amazing, but there's just know way of knowing who the GOAT is...especially without the letters 'UFC' on the resume.

If you made a notation on Fedors career it would say
*avoided best available competition in his prime, padded record, lost 3x in a row when required to fight legitimate competition

something dana would say.
