Bellator and Alexander Shlemenko Beatdown
Anyone see Bellator last night?
Shlemenko looked awesome. He was lighting Falcao up with sick kicks and knees and crushed him with body shots. Finally he dropped him with another brutal liver shot and smashed him with some brutal shots while Falcao was on the ground and left him totally out cold.
I was very impressed by his performance. Not saying he would be a top MW in the UFC but he looked great and served up a brutal beatdown. Bas would have loved it... he really showed how effecting body shots can be.
Also, I was impressed with Bellator and the overall card. Sometimes I feel like Bellator can be pretty mediocre but that card was packed with good, exciting fights.
It's also cool that Bellator is tapping into Russian MMA talent. It seems like there are a lot of dangerous, skilled fighters there that haven't gotten any attention in the US.

In the UFC there'd be a lot of exciting striking match ups for him. Guys like Chael would stifle him and Anderson would out strike him but he'd be top ten.

I'm glad Bellator is growing on you! I've been a huge fan for a few years now. Love the tournaments and their prospects.
Storm did look awesome last night. One thing that has impressed me is the way in which his game has evolved over the last few years. He has always been very good at striking, but his TDD was never very good, and his ground game was mediocre. His TDD looked fantastic last night against a very athletic, fast fighter with solid technique. I don't think he'd be a top 5 in the UFC or anything like that yet, but he is damn good. I could see him causing lots of stylistic problems for UFC middleweights, who, other than AS, don't really have very good striking. The only fighters who can take him down in that division are Weidman, Palhares, and Lombard. I think he would stand the best chance against Palhares out of those three.
EDIT: Forgot Chael, but he's at LHW for now.

Yeah Falcao was being a smartass... Kinda reminded me of what just happened to Reem. Overconfident, sh!t talking, not taking his opponent seriously then it came back to haunt him

Yeah takedown defense seems to be his biggest weakness... When he fought Lombard he couldn't stop his takedowns or get out from under him.
Still a badass though

Yeah, I think he's improved since that Lombard fight too. There would be a lot of who would wind up at his feet in the UFC. The dude pushing the action

Yeah, he's really entertaining. Always pushing the pace and throwing a ton of strikes and his kicks are rad.
