People who look back and shit on fighters wins are the worst boxing fans. If at the time it seemed like the best fight, it can't automatically suck when you want to piss on a fighters legacy.
I'm not directing this at anyone. But floyd was is and always has been vocal about winning lineal championships and baldo was that.

That's a valid point.. so is the arum conflict.. I just get tired of hearing that Baldo was the best opponent for Floyd at the time.. it's not about shitting on his legacy..it's about accurately depicting it.

I don't think baldo was the best fight. But like someone else has said, fighting a lineal champ doesn't suck.

This is a good point, but not necessarily for Floyd. He has, on multiple occasions, said that he's NOT in it for belts or legacy. Only that he's "In it for that check."

Baldomir was the same amount of money, had THE ww belt, and was less of a threat. If you want Floyd to fight a more dangerous opponent, give him some incentive to.
This was not about Floyd not stepping up and fighting better competition, this was about the other parties involved coming up short (Arum not offering more, Margarito not having hardware). Floyd did his part, he got paid and became the belt, the rest of the boxing world failed.

Now when I say there are certain people who are just anti-Floyd, I'm called a hyper-sensitive gloom, but when Sea no scores the fight for Bradley he's branded not only ignorant, but a racist...by someone who was a round away from scoring it a draw.

For the love of Christ...I had it 8 rounds to 4...and I said that a couple of those could have gone the either way.
And there are people on this forum who are clearly anti pacquiao (Cuban, Texasdrugaddict etc) for unknown reasons...and I dropped that racist shit a long time ago.
So let's be accurate here.

I've seen him multiple times talk about lineal belts. It doesn't really bother me but it seems to be a special kind of fighter who fights the lineal champ and gets attacked for it being a shit fight when they have been moving up in weight.

I see what you are saying here, and I do agree with you to a certain extent.
The worst Boxing fans are very similar to the worst MMA fans...those who nit pick and attempt to diminish and undermine all the accomplishments of certain fighters.
For example, there are a lot of Anti Pacquiao assholes on this forum...those who even make up bull shit stories about meeting Freddie Roach.
Regarding PBF...even his harshest critics will acknowledge that he's one of the best boxers in the last 100 years, if not all time.
My harshest criticism of PBF is that I wish he fought more...then again he makes almost 80 million a year...so I don't blame him for fighting 3 or 4 times in 2 years.

I'm not saying Baldo didn't have anything to offer.. he was a sturdy-hardworking fighter..I liked him.. but he wasn't a threat to anybody at the world class level..so long as they took him seriously.. Margarito was

eh, Baldo did it the old fashioned way, by beating guys in eliminators and working his way up there. People wanted to see the Tony fight, as Consortium pointed out, because of good promotion.
Baldo earned the fight. Tony really didn't. In fact, Tony could never string together two good wins in a row to really deserve the fight. According to boxrec Baldo's opponents leading up to Floyd had a combined record of 129-11-0 and included 2 top ranked titlists.
Boxing fans tend to believe everything they hear from promoters, commentators etc- but if you look the info is out there.
