Pretty amazing list for a team/coach that was often labeled as being less technical than their adversaries.

Carlson's Black Belts, and the Second Generation have produced 100's of MMA and BJJ World Champions.
FAR more than Helio or Carlos Jr.'s sides.

They were upset that Carlson was living in Chicago and not training them but still receiving a large amount of their fight purse, and a fight ensured and most of the top guys went to make BTT. The story differs depending on what side you hear it from.

Andre "Tim" Monteiro and pretty much anyone from the Nova Geracao Academy in Rio are all next gen Carlson guys since Toco recieved his black belt directly from Sr.

MMA yes, pure BJJ I don't know that that's true. Alliance and Gracie Barra are both from the Carlos/Helio side, and they've probably won more world titles than any other groups. Atos is an Alliance split off (mostly).
Though I agree that people who think Carlson's students aren't technical are totally wrong. Just because you prefer wicked TDs and crushing top game to sporty guard play doesn't make you less technical, it's just a stylistic choice.

Dispute over management. The split resulted in the creation of the Brazilian Top Team, which was big in MMA in Pride era.
