Japanese troops round up Chinese and Russian prisoners of war and take them to a place called Squadron 731, where they are grotesquely tortured and experimented on to test new biological weapons.

I love Full Moon well did for their old Puppet Master stuff even their Demonic Dolls was decent. They had a certain charm to them that made it fun to watch.

A scientific experiment unknowingly brings extraterrestrial life forms to the Earth through a laser beam. First is the cigar smoking drake Howard from the duck's planet. A few kids try to keep him from the greedy scientists and help him back to his planet. But then a much less friendly being arrives through the beam...

I grew up on those films. I agree about the charm, they obviously had a lot of fun making those films and did so as a labor of love.

Ilsa is an evil Nazi warden at a death camp that conducts "medical experiments". Ilsa's goal is to prove that women can withstand more pain and suffering than men and therefore should be allowed to fight on the front lines.
Fun fact: this was filmed on the same sets where Hogan's Heroes was filmed.

You know, I've had this for over a year now and I still haven't seen it yet? Shame on me. I have been hearing about this film for 15 years or more and I still have yet to see it. Never heard anything bad about it either.

Gummo certainly isn't for everyone. I'd say that of most of Korine's stuff.
I still need to see Julien Donkeyboy, Mr. Lonely and Trash Humpers but each one is likely a hard sell to watch with my wife, whose tastes....aren't as offbeat as my own, shall we say.

Ha ha, I know, dude. You ain't talking to no civilian here.
(I believe Korine wrote the screenplay with Lary Clark based largely on Clark recounting tales of his youth.)

Oh man, what a brilliant film. Todd Solondz is awesome.
I rate it above Welcome to the Dollhouse, Storytelling, and Palindromes (haven't seen Life During Wartime or Dark Horse yet).
Pro-tip for the first-timer coming to it fresh: it's one of the blackest comedies you will ever see, but the key to getting through it is to find the will to laugh at it all.
