Omar Henry, an undefeated boxer prospect with a record of 12-0-1, passed away Feb.1, 2013 at an age of only 25 years old to gallbladder cancer! He was a training partner for Nick Diaz in preparation for Paul Daley. He was a training partner for Floyd Mayweather in preparation for Miguel Cotto. He was close friends with Diaz brothers' camp and Floyd Mayweather's.
I was following Nick Diaz's youtube account and found that he was watching and sharing a lot of cancer related documentaries back last Summer. I now know why, it was for Omar.
You know you have a genuinely good friend when at your worst, they're able to drown all their time to find a cure or to aid help even when it's not their specialty.
Behind all the portrayal and image created for entertainment, we have to remember that all fighters are human beings too.
Anyways, it was a tragic event, but it reminds us all of how fragile life can be. As young, sharp, and fit as a professional boxer as Omar Henry, we shouldn't neglect our own health and screenings. Cherish the moments and enjoy the combat sport for what it is.

Sad to hear. Sparring with Diaz can do that to you.

I really feel bad about posting that, just in the past when someone passed away I just found it easier to deal with when passed off as a joke.
Honestly though, I'm really sorry about his passing. Such a shame.
