I'm not an athiest, but let me tell you what being a non-Christian is like in America:
It's like the sun is beaming down, it's humid as shit, and 8 out of every 10 people you see are bundled up with sweaters, coats, scarves, and boots, while you're walking in shorts and a t-shirt.
They may not comment, they may not glance over, but there's that moment when someone starts ranting about how cold it is, and then look at you like a soulless madman if you don't agree. It's puzzling, because there's no evidence that they should be wearing a sweater, and it's probably even harmful, but your T-Shirt sticks out them as far more challenging.
That's what it's like hearing about Jesus every day of my life when the shit Christians believe about him is probably not even close to true.
Personally, my believes may or may not be true, but i really don't care enough about what others believe to have to validate it.
That said, a lot of atheists and non-christians in America grew up with Christianity being forced down their throat and have a special kind of hatred for it.
It's a perfectly reasonable disdain, and their disdain should be equally respected to other's beliefs, which, unfortunately it isnt.
When i can watch a superbowl, the Grammy's (i watch every couple of years), etc. without hearing about Jesus, maybe you'll have a point.
