The Blackzillians not doing so great--Rashad and Reem evidence of that
Both of these guys came in way overconfident with very poor game plans. I've seen both of them throw vicious combinations before but not in UFC 156. Both of these guys came in with egos way too big for that level of competition and both of them were searching for that one punch or one kick K.O. of the night.
People are talking about Reem going off steroids. The guy was still big as Hell and easily muscled Silva around. That is a huge guy to shrug off and back up like that. Reem stood right in front of a man that is literally a giant and thought he was going to come in and K.O. him with a jab. He was flat on his feet and loading up for one big shot. All he had to do was get his combinations off and control the pace or even keep Bigfoot on the fence and throw knees and coast to a decision but he came in way over confident with a piss poor or no game plan. Even after he got clipped, The Reem made no attempt at a clinch or shot. He just stood there and kept taking blows to the dome until Silva delivered him a powerful date rape drug via his fists.
The same is true for Rashad. He was higher ranked, younger, more explosive, a better wrestler and many considered the standup to be even. But Rashad forgot that Lil Nog is a true LHW(unlike him) and that he has legitimate boxing skills. Lil Nog has lost in the standup game before but his fist-a-cuffs fundamentals are solid. Rashad can talk about the broken hand all day but the truth is he walked out there and thought he was going to Sean Salmon Lil Nog and after he threw a couple of big kicks he got caught right in the chin(more than once). Watch those replays. Those punches don't look like much until you see them in slow motion. He was pushing Sugar's chin right back into his spine. He caught him like that 2 or 3 times in the first round. Rashad was hurt and he was done. He had no plan B, unless you consider playing patty cake for 3 rounds a plan B.
Fighters talk about this gym like they don't take a big cut of their check and they don't micro manage them. But the reality the fighters need a camp to keep their head straight, their egos in check, and to formulate and repeat a great game plan on a daily basis. I don't see that in the Blackzillian camp. Maybe it is because they are relatively new but Greg Jackson's MMA they are not.

They're the new Hammer House - tons of talent, but they can't seem to do anything with it.

And we can't forget they took Melvin Guillard from contender to human highlight reel in his last 4 fights.
Re-watching the event, my favorite part was Overeem doing his 1+1=2 quote. And I wonder if he is still able to complete such a labryinthine mathematical equation after Herb Dean had to peel Bigfoot Silva off of him.

Guillard, Rumble, Rashad, Reem, Santiago. . . .
No good at the moment. Too many distractions in Florida and too many yes men. That's my completely uneducated opinion.

Rashad just easily beat one of the best up and comers in Davis, and Reem was handily winning the Silva fight before getting blitzed. Vitor took it to Bisping, Jimmo has won 17 in a row, Alverez is one of the UFC's highest touted free agent wants in a long time, Trujillo was a monster in his last fight...etc etc
but please, tell us how they suck some more

..You know that's how Overeem fights right? He is a one punch, one kick, one knee guy. He's never been big on combinations because it exposes his chin and he became slow as hell at heavyweight.
