I think strikeforce challangers is a better example. lots of great up and comers. cormier, carlos fodor, Rhadi Ferguson judo olympian, lorenz larkin, roger gracie, ronda rousey, also it gave randy's son a chance to work his way up. reason i say strikeforce challengers is better is because we all knew wec would get shut down eventually by zuffa. just like zuffa shut down strikeforce. while strikeforce and showtime would of kept strikeforce challengers around indefinetly prior to the zuffa purchase. pre zuffa- strikeforce knew how to treat a fighter back in the day. it was really interesting watching these fighters grow in strikeforce challengers events and then move on to strikeforce events.

Make a handful of Kun Khmer fighters with no ground game fight.

Honestly, I really like OneFC and their approach and set-up to the MMA game. Not sure how it will do, but I hope the best for them.

I'm planning to teach in Cambodia in 12 to 18 months time so I'd appreciate it if they established MMA there ready for my arrival.

Hehe. T-I-T - this is Thailand. Nothing is ever clear.

Well I was led to believe back in March (?) that it had been outright illegalised, then the entire internet followed suit. Rob Cox in Bangkok though is adamant that the status is still simply "unrecognised", though, which means not illegal per se, just not legal. For legality, the Sports Association has to recognise and endorse it.

On the other hand, Master Toddy *confirmed to me it was outright illegal in April '12, in Bangkok, when they did the WMC show (4-man tourney feat. Saiyok, Jordan etc) where the WMC were going for Olympic recognition to get amateur MT into the Olympics. So perhaps the "ban" story that got leaked (which I obviously jumped on) about how it would be harmful to MT was just smoke and mirrors so that the Olympic bid could go down, and then DARE and the rest just played it up by "going underground"...

No complaints though. Those guys are great, and I loved being in a warehouse with everyone shouting "Kumite, Kumite!"

From a more regional, non-BKK perspective, my sponsor literally hired Chaweng Stadium on Samui, greased a few local palms (golden handshake with ze cops) and it went down fine. Albeit most of the fights were Muay Thai, but still...

Point being, One FC will have no problem there with Chatri (Evolve owner) being a rich Thai.

ps- there is officially NO PROSTITUTION in Thailand. Go fucking figure

"bargirl" is a pretty loose term. I've heard that foreigners kindly give them 1000baht gifts after shagging them. And there's officially NO MMA in Thailand either.
