If you have small hands avoid reyes, likewise, if you large hands avoid top king.

I have average sized hands. Which would you go with of the two? (I don't think I would have a problem fitting into the Top Kings and I should absolutely be fine with the Reyes)

I am surprised no one tried to convince him to get another pair of Fairtex! Those are solid gloves and meant for MT. I don't think you can get any MT specific glove which is better than those. Perhaps you should avoid the breathable for added life?!? I have a pair of 18oz Fairtex BGV1 with the Nation Print and I love them!

If you are doing western boxing, I would definitely recommend Reyes, but they are not cut like MT gloves. They have long cuff, the weight is very distributed and before break in they are stiff and I doubt you would be able to clinch with them.

You could always go the cheap route and tape your hands, dip them in glue then in broken glass.

My recommendation is the Top Kings for muay thai. Or as GHVA226 said....another pair of Fairtex but non-breathable. If you really want to save money though.....go with KO Fightgear. At your budget you could buy 2 pairs and still have money left over. Plus they will last you a very long time. Didnt think to recommend those before and Im a big KO mark. Must be the painkillers Im on for my elbow.

The Cleto's thumb is something I personally hate, as do many others, that I think it's a little risky spending that money without having tried Reyes first. I'd say the curved grip bar in Top King's and just their general fit will be quite a bit different to the Fairtex as well which you may not like.

I agree with Gus - get another pair of Fairtex but without the mesh. I think that's the safest recommendation, honestly, because you already found a pair of gloves that fit well for you and that you were happy with in all aspects apart from their durability. Ditching the mesh should solve that.

Thanks for the input guys. While I liked the Fairtex gloves, they weren't very durable which kind of turned me off. (Although I love my thai pads from them) The feel of the gloves was good but I did not think it was excellent. They might've felt a tiny bit small on my hands which is why I am sort of leaning towards the Reyes. What didn't you guys like about the Reyes (The thumb, etc.) Thanks again.

In my opinion fairtex gear is over priced and the quality went down hill after the split.

What specifically did you like about the Fairtex?
