I may need to get one before deployment then. Or have my wife buy herself one when I am at training.

Building a sbr on my lower
so my next purchase will be either a complete upper
or just buy the barrel and decide what upper and rail i want.
for those of you who dont know what the .300 blackout(7.62x35) is here is a picture comparing it to the 5.56. One of the many great things about this round is you can use all your .223/5.56 parts other than the barrel, so the same mags, lower, etc.

I picked up a Taurus 617 this morning. It's a 7-shot .357 snub. Still after a 85UL/642/442/LCR, lightweight 5-shot .38.

Gen 3, standard Glock 30 (no SF) I paid $500, plus $75 for 160 rds of ammo (60 Hornady 200 gr XTP- not my first choice, but the shelves at the stores are bare: 100 rds of CCI Blazer 230 gr FMJ). It still had the copper lube on the rails and under the slide- born date of Aug 2012. No wear on the finish or internals.
But there's plenty of idiocy out there- just a while ago a new ad went up on the local online classified site for 2 Glocks, a 19 and a 27, $700 each.

Love the 300blk, nice & quiet through my YHM can, and straight movie quiet through my Rem 700.
Nice uppers. Built mine w/ a Mega monolithic.
What do you guys use for optics? Had an aimpoint which I didn't care for, the small tube size made me slower so I went back to Eotech... although I usually train with irons.

Good to hear, I was hoping to still be able to get one at $500. I kinda want to take a look at the new 30s before I decide.

I use aimpoint. I like aimpoint. I don't like the cross hair circle deal on the eotech unless shooting at like 50 yards or less. I might get an eotech for my sbr build tho. What I currently have is the aimpoint 2 moa micro t1.(you can see on my ar pictured above) i think it has much less of that tube vision you speak of compared to a comp 3-4 etc. I also use the buis sights.
Yeah mega unfortunately cant make mono uppers anymore because of lmt's patent which i think is bullshit. I might try to look for a lightly used or someone that bought and its still nib and buy from them.
I need to see what kind of clearance i have with exactly how long i can go with the rail. I like the look of the rail taking up almost all the barrel. I plan on suppressing later so i need to take that into account as well. I might go with a vltor vis 1, if i dont the upper i will get is a noveske stamped vltor mur upper. Then like i said check out the rail options and stuff
