I understand that shoyoroll has this limited/scarcity thing going on, and more power to them but the $180 price tag for a white pearl weave gi is bonkers.
What justifies this price tag for the non-collectors?

They will sell out almost INSTANTANEOUSLY.
Therefore, I do not believe that the SRP needs be justified.
Why does anything cost any amount? Because people deem it worth it. Some people pay 300$ in the secondary market (eBay) for every single batch released. Does that justify it enough for you? - E

Therefore, the question wasn't directed at you.
For further elaboration to try to avoid people that post just for the sake of arguing, for someone who does not collect shoyoroll gis,
and is in the market for a new gi, what would persuade them to buy this gi @ $180+/- over another gi that is $60 cheaper?

for me:
- I like the style/colors
- I COULD go with another company if there was a similar product, but I know the cut of SYR and its been my favorite fit

Fit is probably the most valuable thing about a gi to me. Right above it's quality.
So that is a strong justification. However, I reviewed the Mojo gi that was cut identically to the shoyoroll gi that was out during the time
I reviewed it. I think it was the compadre. Pants were almost the same cut and material, reinforcements were identical, and the quality was
very close.
Edit: As for style and colors, this is a pretty standard white gi.

You have not even seen the kimono; how in this world can you proclaim that it is "standard white gi"? Why do you enter a thread for a product you have no intention of even considering buying? Threadcrap much? - E
EDIT: I don't frequent Winning customized gloves threads complaining about how much Winning charges to customize their equipment and asking that Winning patrons justify the price. It's ridiculous!

Well Mr. Pot - Few of things for you:
- Why do you feel the need to burden others with your empty assumptions? I was interested in picking this gi up
due to the mock up, but then I clicked the link and read that it was $175 (not including shipping) and couldn't imagine why.
- As for not seeing the kimono... is this a mirage?
How about the mock up at the top of the page?
- You're a hypocrite with your threadcrap comment.

I'll never understand the fascination with these gis. They don't seem like anything special. Looks like the same gi over and over again with a different color scheme....

They are different weights, different types of pants are used, and different colors and stuff. all in all each one is just a remake of another gi but a different color. there are just so many ways to make a gi.
