Should be super-exciting regardless of whether or not you think the rules are fair, can't wait to see how it unfolds!

I'm all for it. We need it. The point fighting tournaments are getting away from the reason submission arts were developed. The submission based mentality instead of a point based mentality.

That all counts on where my arms are allowed to start. If they can start close to a RNC, just as the Spider Web would start close to an armbar, then it's something to consider.

There has to be a winner in a tournament. The other reason I don't like the double DQ is that a big part of BJJ is (or should be) patience. The time limit will force you to expose yourself, which changes the nature of BJJ.
Don't get me wrong its still a huge leap over fake BJJ like IBJJF rules encourage.
I also like gi/no-gi potential. Wear what you want.

Each competitor gets to chose back control with both legs hooks or spider web aka arm bar position. The combatant with the quickest sub wins. If no subs, the combatant with the quickest escape wins. This will ensure that when a grappler is defending he doesn't just sit there t-rexxed. It's in his best interest to escape as fast as possible. Remember, fastest escape wins if no subs"
Also
"There will be 8 matches in the first round. The number 1 and 2 seeds will go against each other in the 8th match of the first round.
Why pit the top 2 guys together in the last match of the 1st round u ask? Let me explain.
The second round can have many different looks.
There could be only 2 competitors advancing to the 2nd round, resulting in the finals taking place right there in the 2nd round, or there could be 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 or 8 combatants advancing to the 2nd round.
But what if the first seven matches are all draws?
Well that means the 8th match, with the 2 best guys competing against each other, is automatically the finals.
This guarantees a bad ass super fight finals if there are zero subs in the first 7 matches.
So far Kron is the number one seed and Bill Cooper, IMO, is the second seed.
So no matter what happens in the first 7 matches the fans are guaranteed a super fight."

Hm. I think I like this. I'm not sure yet - but I think so. There is a winner no matter what and you can still fit into a time limit.... I think this makes sense.
