I live in Colorado Springs and work out at a gym that is very popular with a lot of the young Army guys from the nearby base. I respect the hell out of them for joining the military, but I swear my gym has more mean-mugging, bad tattoo having tough guy wannabes who only do bench and curls than any other gym. They also love to shadow box between sets. One guy told me I shouldn't deadlift because studies have shown its bad for your back.
However, one older guy took first place in the gym idiot competition the other night. He had teh 275 on a bar in the squat rack, set a the height for BB rows. But rather than doing rows, he was doing a single "power curl", putting his whole body into the movement, going up on his tiptoes, with the bar never going above waist high. He was in the rack doing this for the entire 90 minutes I was at the gym, taking 5-10 minute breaks between sets.
